Matoshree Parwatibai Kumbhar School

We’ve been here in Gopalwadi for quite some time now, right along the Daund Kurkumbh Road. It’s a busy stretch with trucks going by, but once you step inside our gates, things quiet down a bit. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the families in Daund pretty well. The school started because we saw a need for a place where local kids could just come and learn without having to travel too far into the main town. Our building isn't fancy, just some sturdy classrooms and a bit of space for the children to run around during their break. Every morning, you’ll see the kids walking in from the nearby lanes, some carrying heavy bags and others just excited to see their friends. We spend a lot of time making sure the benches are fixed and the chalkboards are clean. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we have some fans going to keep the rooms decent. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find one of us sitting near the entrance if you need to ask about admissions or just want to chat about how a student is doing. It’s just a regular place where we try to do right by the kids in our neighborhood. We don’t use big words or have fancy posters. We just show up, open the gates, and get to work every day. We stay busy with our lessons and making sure the school grounds stay in good shape for everyone.
