Mathura Sweets

If you walk down to Chinchwad East 71, you’ll find us at Mathura Sweets. The shop has been in this spot for a good while now. We have a couple of metal chairs outside for people who want to sit for a second, though most just grab their stuff and leave. The display glass has a few scratches on it from years of use, but you can still see everything inside clearly enough. We spend a lot of time boiling milk and stirring big pots until our arms get tired. Chinchwad East 71 is a place where people know each other, so we see the same faces every week. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing plan. We just open the doors and start the work. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to wait around drinking tea until it shows up. That’s just part of the routine. The shelves are stacked with boxes of different sizes because everyone wants something different. We try to keep the place organized, but it gets messy when we are busy during the festivals. We don't use any special tricks, just the same recipes we have used since we started. It’s a simple life here. We worry about the weather and the price of sugar just like everyone else. It’s just a local shop trying to get through the day. We hope the fans keep working in this heat.
