About Marne Misal & Snacks – Food & Beverages in Pune
We are right across from the PL Deshpande Garden on Sinhagad Road. It's a very busy area, especially on weekends when everyone goes to the park. Marne Misal & Snacks is a family-run thing. We start our day very early, around four in the morning, to get the rassa ready. Misal is what we do mostly. We make it spicy because that's what people expect when they come to Sinhagad Road. The shop is quite open, so you get the breeze, but also the dust from the road. We have long steel tables where people sit together even if they don't know each other. It’s a very local vibe. We don't have a waiter system where someone writes things down on a tablet. We just shout the orders to the kitchen. Sometimes we get the spice level wrong and have to bring extra yogurt or bread. The floor gets wet when we wash it down in the afternoon. We have a small sink in the corner for people to wash their hands. It’s practical. My cousin handles the billing at the front counter. He’s usually listening to the radio. We don't have any fancy decorations, just a few pictures of gods on the wall with some dried garlands. People come here for the food, not the looks. It’s loud, it’s hot, and it’s always busy. We like the energy of the morning crowd especially. It’s just how we live.
