Mamta Sweets

Mamta Sweets is located over at Amar Plaza, specifically Shop No 4, which is right on the Pune Solapur Road in the Hadapsar area near the New Bel Main Road. If you’ve ever driven down that road, you know how much traffic there is and how fast everyone is trying to go. We are right there in the middle of all that noise and movement. Every day we get the kitchen going to make the different sweets. It’s a lot of work with the milk and the sugar and keeping everything at the right temperature so things don't spoil or taste wrong. The shop isn't very big, so things can get a bit cramped when a few customers come in at the same time, especially during the festival months when everyone wants something. We spend most of our time behind the counter or back in the small kitchen area. The floor gets a little sticky sometimes even though we try to sweep it often. People from around Hadapsar stop in while they are out doing their chores or heading home from work. It’s a pretty basic shop with glass cases for the food. We aren't trying to do anything fancy, just making the usual stuff that people expect to find in a sweet shop. The Pune Solapur Road always has something going on, so there is never a quiet moment outside our door. We just keep the lights on and the trays full of freshly made items.
