Our place is on Shivaji Road in Shukrawar Peth, Pune. If you are looking for us, we are at Sr No 560, right near the Rastrabhushan Chowk. We are actually tucked behind the Gajraj Mitra Mandal building. Shukrawar Peth is one of those old parts of Pune that is always crowded and full of life. The kitchen is the heart of what we do, and it is usually quite hot and smells like spices from early in the morning until we close. We start work very early, getting the rice and meat ready for the biryani. It is a lot of manual work, lifting heavy pots and making sure the fire is kept at just the right level. We aren't a big, fancy restaurant with waiters in fancy uniforms. It’s more of a place where people come because they know exactly what they are going to get. Most of our customers are locals or people working in the nearby shops who just want a quick, filling meal during their break. Sometimes it gets so crowded that people have to wait out on the street for a seat, but nobody seems to mind too much. We do our best to keep things moving as fast as we can. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the tables are well-worn, but that is just because we have been so busy. We just focus on the food.
