M Purohit Sweets

At M Purohit Sweets, we spend a lot of time near the stove. Our place is located in the Katraj Sursingrao Gaekwad Area on Manjalpur Main Road at number 11. If you walk by early enough, you can smell the milk boiling and the sugar. We make a lot of different things depending on what time of year it is. The kitchen is always the busiest part of the shop, and it gets quite hot in there during the summer months. We have local folks who stop by for a quick snack or to take something home for their families. It isn’t a huge operation, just a few of us making sure the trays stay full. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff before the day is over, which is just how it goes. The floors get a bit sticky from the syrup, but we try to keep up with the cleaning. Katraj is a lively area and there is always someone coming or going on the main road. We don't have fancy menus or anything, just what you see behind the glass. People know us and they know where we are. It is a lot of hard work standing on your feet all day, but seeing people enjoy a piece of barfi makes it feel okay. We just keep doing what we know.
