Laxman Thite runs his architectural practice out of a residential area in Warje, Pune. The office is actually c/o Mr. Jadkar at 22-A 'Shantakarm' in Tirupai Nagar. It is a quiet neighborhood compared to the city center, which is nice when you need to focus on detailed drawings. Working from a place like Shantakarm feels more personal than being in a glass office building. People usually just drop by if they are in the area to talk about their house plans. We spend a lot of time at the drawing board or visiting sites around Warje and other parts of Pune. The setup is quite basic—just what we need to get the job done without any unnecessary frills. We don't have a big staff, so when you call, you’re likely talking to the person who is actually doing the work. It’s been this way for a while now. We handle everything from the initial layouts to the structural details. The aim is always just to get the project finished correctly. We don’t really do much in terms of promotion; we just stay busy with the work that comes through. Sometimes the porch of the house serves as a meeting spot when the weather is nice. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for us and our clients. We just take it one project at a time and try to be helpful. That's how we have always operated here.
