SE-ARCH architect

Our space is tucked away inside the Damodar Housing Society in Bibewadi. It is more of a residential vibe here than a commercial one, which we actually prefer. You walk past people’s homes and clothes drying on the balconies to get to our door. It is quiet and it does not feel like one of those cold, glass office buildings you see in the city center. Inside, the rooms are quite small and we have squeezed in as many drafting tables as we could fit. Pune-37 is a decent area to work in, and being in a society means we know the watchman and most of the neighbors who live nearby. We usually keep the window open to get some air, even if it brings in some dust from the street every now and then. There are always a few rolls of drawings lying on the floor because we ran out of shelf space months ago. We spend a lot of time talking about measurements and arguing over where a specific wall should go. It is a lot of back and forth between us. Lunch is usually someone bringing in a dabba and we all eat quickly so we can get back to the computer screens. We do not really do the whole polished corporate thing here. We just wear our regular clothes and get the drawings finished. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we just sit there waiting for a file to save.
