Lakshmi Sweets

Vadgaon Budruk is a quieter part of town compared to the center. We are located at 2nd Lake Road 3, and you can sometimes feel a bit of a breeze from the water nearby. Lakshmi Sweets is a small family-run place. We wake up early to start the milk boiling in the back. The 2nd Lake Road address is mostly residential, so we know most of our customers by their first names. We don't have a large staff, just family members helping out behind the counter. The glass cases are filled with different trays every morning, and we try to keep everything organized. It gets a bit hot in the kitchen area, so we keep the back door open to let the air in. We spend a lot of time cleaning the metal trays and making sure the floor isn't slippery from the ghee. Sometimes the lake road gets a bit flooded when it rains heavily, and we have to put sandbags by the entrance. It’s a simple life here in Vadgaon Budruk. We don't have any big marketing plans or colorful flyers. People just know we are here at number 3. When the sun starts to set over the lake, we begin to wind down and cover the trays. It’s a long day of standing on your feet, but it’s what we do. We lock up and head out once the street lights come on. It's basically the same thing every day.
