About Jai Balaji Namkin – Food & Beverages in Pune
Jai Balaji Namkin is tucked away in Ganesh Peth, right on the 15th Cross over at Margosa Road 775. If you come near our shop, you can usually smell the spices before you even see us. We have big bags of all kinds of namkin stacked up. There is sev, gathiya, and those spicy mixtures that everyone likes with their tea. I spend a lot of time weighing out portions into plastic bags and tying them with rubber bands. It’s a busy spot because this part of Ganesh Peth is always full of people moving about. We’ve been in this location for a long time, and the building is quite old. The shelves are wooden and a bit creaky. We don't really do any advertising. People just know our snacks are fresh. Some customers buy in bulk for weddings or parties, so we have to keep a lot of stock ready in the back. It gets quite hot in the shop because we have the frying area not too far away, but you get used to it. My hands usually smell like turmeric and chili by the end of the day. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming since they were children. It’s nice to see families grow up over the years. We just keep doing what we know, making good snacks and serving the people who walk through the door. I try to make sure every bag is filled to the top properly.
