We are tucked away in Kothrud at number 148. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the noisy main roads nearby. We mostly serve the families and the students who live right around this area. The shop itself isn't very big at all. We have the sweets arranged in the front glass case and some savory snacks kept in large glass jars on the side shelves. I spend a lot of time just organizing the displays so things don't look empty when a tray sells out. We don't use any fancy machines here, it's mostly just hand work for the shaping and the frying of the different items. You can hear the oil bubbling in the back if you stand near the kitchen door. Sometimes we have a bit of a chat with the older folks who come in; they’ve been buying their snacks from us for years and years. We know exactly what they like, like who wants less sugar or who always asks for the extra spicy mixture. The floor is made of old tiles and it's definitely seen better days, but we keep it swept and clean. It feels like a normal, quiet part of the neighborhood. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here and they come when they need something. When the stock runs low in the evening, we start thinking about cleaning up and closing the shop. It’s a steady and slow kind of life here.
