Jagruth Sweets is right by the Kothrud Flyover Bridge. If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic there, you’ve probably seen us. It’s a busy spot with cars and bikes zooming past all day long. Being near the bridge means there is always noise and dust, but it also means people are always passing by. We start work while most people are still sleeping. The smells of the kitchen start drifting out early in the morning, which is probably the best part of the day. It’s a small place, nothing like those big corporate food chains you see in the malls. We’ve got our regular customers who stop by on their way home from work or after dropping their kids off at school. The counter is usually a bit crowded in the evenings when the flyover gets backed up. We don't have a fancy seating area or air conditioning that works all the time, but it’s a place where people know they can get what they need. Some days are more hectic than others, especially when there’s a festival coming up and everyone is in a rush. We just keep the trays full and the floor swept as best as we can. It’s hard work being on your feet all day near the Kothrud bridge, but Jagruth Sweets is part of the neighborhood now. We’re just a local shop doing things the old-fashioned way without much fuss, just making sweets and serving the people who come by.
