Hanuman Sweets

Located in Yerwada at Shop No 28, this place is basically where I spend most of my waking hours. The shop isn't very large but we managed to fit in enough glass cases to show what we have ready for the day. Usually, I'm here early to check the milk delivery and make sure the stove is working right. The street outside gets really loud with all the traffic coming through Yerwada, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of the ceiling fan clicking. I’ve been working behind this counter for a few years now and I recognize almost everyone who walks in. We don't do anything fancy with the packaging, just the usual cardboard boxes and some string to tie them up. Sometimes people come in asking for things we don't have, and I just tell them to come back tomorrow. It's a simple way of living. On festivals, the whole place gets crowded and we barely have room to move behind the counter. My hands are usually sticky by mid-afternoon from handling everything. We try to keep things clean, wiping down the glass every few hours because of the dust from the road. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for customers, then a big rush, and then quiet again. I usually sit on a small wooden stool in the corner when it’s slow. It helps my legs feel better after a long morning of work. That’s about it for us here.
