Located right at the Lohogaon Main Gate D S K Chintamani, Gokul Sweets And Chat is usually a bit of a loud place. We have the sweet counter on one side and the chat station on the other, so there is always a lot going on at once. You can hear the sound of the ladle hitting the pan and the smell of spices in the air all day long. I usually start prepping the tamarind water and the potatoes early so everything is ready for the afternoon rush. Lohogaon is a busy area, and being near the main gate means we see all sorts of people walking by. Some stop for a quick plate of something spicy, while others want a box of sweets to take to a party. It gets pretty hectic around five o'clock, and sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but people don't seem to mind much. We keep the stools out front for anyone who wants to sit for a minute. The shop isn't very big, and it can get a bit cramped when it's raining, but we make it work. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here, just making chat and sweets like we always have. It’s a lot of scrubbing pots and cleaning counters at the end of the night, but that is just part of the business. We like being part of the noise here. We stay open until the last customer leaves, which is usually quite late.
