We are located on the ground floor of a building in Sadashiv Peth. If you know this part of Pune, you know it’s full of narrow lanes and old houses. Our snack center is just a small room where we prepare everything fresh. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit, so most of our customers stand around the tall tables outside or take their food to go. It’s very busy in the mornings with people heading to work and wanting a quick bite. We make the usual snacks like poha and upma. The kitchen is right behind the counter so you can hear the stove and the clatter of plates. It gets quite hot in there, especially during the summer months. My wife helps me with the prep work in the early hours before we open the shutters. We don’t use any fancy branding or spend money on flyers. The smell of the food usually brings people in from the street. Sadashiv Peth is a traditional area, so we keep our recipes simple and the way people have always liked them. Sometimes we run out of things before the afternoon, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It's a humble little place and we just try to do an honest day's work. We’ve been here long enough that we know how most people like their tea. We keep a few newspapers on the counter for people to read.
