We are located in Aundh 5. It’s a pretty busy spot, especially in the late afternoon. We deal with a lot of puffed rice and different chutneys every day. There is always a lot of chopping going on in the back, mostly onions and coriander. The smell of the tamarind sauce is everywhere. We have these big jars of sev and other crunchy things lined up on the counters. It gets a bit messy because the dry stuff tends to spill when we are moving fast. People stand around outside eating from paper plates. We have to sweep the pavement quite often because of the scraps. It’s a local business and we’ve been in Aundh for a good while. The staff knows how to mix the spices just right without really thinking about it anymore. We pack a lot of parcels for people to take home. Sometimes the line gets long and people get a bit impatient, but we work through it. The packets are stacked up high in the storage area. We don't have a lot of seating, so it’s mostly a grab-and-go kind of thing. The weather affects us a bit; when it rains, people want more spicy things. We just keep the bins full and the ingredients fresh. It is a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps the neighborhood fed with snacks.
