Ganbote Farsan House

Our family has been running Ganbote Farsan House for a long time. We are situated in Rasta Peth on S V Road, at number 110. The shop is in Aishwarya Apartment, specifically Shop No 4, and Salunkhe Hospital is just a short walk away. If you come down this street, you will probably smell the farsan being made before you even see our sign. We spend our days frying up different types of snacks and bagging them up for people to take home. It’s a very hands-on job. My hands are usually a bit oily by the end of the shift, and there’s always a fine layer of spice in the air. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything. We just make the snacks the way we always have, and people seem to like them. The shop is small and the shelves are packed high with bags of different mixtures. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by the afternoon, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. The area around Rasta Peth is quite old and has a lot of character, much like our shop. We know the doctors from the hospital and the regulars who live in the apartments above us. It’s a simple life of making food that people enjoy eating with their tea, and we are happy to keep the tradition going every day.
