Choudhary Wafers & Namkeen

If you come to Chinchwad East 15/G, you’ll find us at Choudhary Wafers & Namkeen. It’s a practical sort of place. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk or decorations because we’re too busy with the bags and the scales. The smell of frying and spices is stuck in my clothes by the time I go home. We’ve got big containers everywhere, and we’re constantly filling up smaller packets for the people who walk in. Chinchwad East is a working area, and our shop fits right in with that. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming here for years. They know exactly what they want before they even step inside. I spend a lot of my time making sure the stock is rotated and the shelves aren't empty. It’s physical work, moving crates around and standing on your feet for ten hours a day. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for what we do. We don't have a marketing department; we just have our hands and the machines. When the afternoon sun hits the front of the shop at 15/G, it gets a bit warm, but we just open the back door to let the breeze in. It's a simple life, selling namkeen and wafers to people who need a snack for their tea time.
