Our small business, Chocolate Affair, is located at Shop No 7 in Diamond Park, which is part of the GIDC Estate in Koregaon Park. It is not the kind of place where you’ll find a big storefront with glass windows. We are in a working area. Most of our day is spent inside with the smell of chocolate. It sounds nice, but after eight hours, you kind of get used to it. We do everything by hand in Shop 7. We melt the chocolate, temper it, and put it into molds. It takes a lot of patience. If the temperature isn't just right, the whole batch is ruined. The GIDC estate is full of other small workshops, so there is always the sound of trucks and people working nearby. Diamond Park is a busy place but we keep to ourselves. We don't have a big team of workers. It’s just a few of us. We spend a lot of time wrapping the chocolates and putting them into boxes. Sometimes we run out of ingredients and have to wait for a delivery, which slows everything down. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just make what we make and people seem to find us. It’s a quiet life in the shop at Koregaon Park. We just keep our heads down and focus on the work. Every day is pretty much the same, and we like it that way. We just keep going until the work is done.
