Chaudhary Bandhu Mithai

Chaudhary Bandhu Mithai is located in Katraj on the RC Dutt Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always something happening outside our door. We opened this shop because our family has always been into making sweets. It’s just a regular mithai shop where we focus on getting the basics right. We don't have any marketing experts or polished logos. Most of our furniture is a bit old, and the fans on the ceiling squeak a little when they are on high speed. We start our work very early, often while it’s still dark, to make sure the first batch is ready for the morning crowd. Milk is delivered every day, and we go through a lot of it. Sometimes the sugar we get is a bit different, so we have to adjust how we cook. It’s not a science, it’s more about how it feels and smells. We have a lot of regular customers who come in for their daily snacks. We know who likes what. The shop can get a bit chaotic when we have several people trying to pay at once, and we still use a simple cash drawer. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just us, some sweets, and a lot of hard work every day to keep the place running on RC Dutt Road. We usually close up once the trays are empty.
