Chandan Sweet Shop

If you head into Bhosarigoan 2nd Cross, you will see Chandan Sweet Shop. We are tucked away a little bit, but the locals know where to find us. The shop is small and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. We have been in Bhosarigoan for a long time now. Every day, we set out the trays of whatever we made that morning. There is a dog that hangs around the 2nd Cross alleyway, and we usually give him a little scrap of something. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. We use old pots and heavy spoons that have been around as long as the shop has. Sometimes we run out of change and have to ask the shop next door for some coins. That is just how the neighborhood works. We don't have any big mission or anything like that. We just want to make enough to keep the lights on and help the people who come in. The sweets are simple, the kind of things people around here like. We don't put them in fancy boxes with ribbons unless someone really asks for it. Usually, it’s just a plain paper bag. It’s a quiet life, mostly, until the kids get out of school and come running in for a snack. We enjoy the work, even when our backs ache from standing.
