Chamunda Sweets

If you head down towards Katraj, you’ll find our little shop, Chamunda Sweets. It’s not a huge place, just a regular spot where we set out our trays every single morning. The area has grown a lot lately, and there are always people moving around outside on the main road. We get here early to start the batches. The smell of sugar and milk usually fills the air by seven o'clock. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but we’re used to it now. We have a few glass counters where everything is laid out so people can see what we have ready. Sometimes we run out of things faster than we expected, and then we have to rush to make more in the back. It’s a bit chaotic at times, especially during the festival months when everyone wants something at the same time. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure everything stays fresh. The floor needs sweeping constantly because of the dust from the road, but we try to keep up with it as best as we can. People from all over Katraj stop in, some just for a quick bite and others buying boxes for their families. We don’t use any fancy packaging or anything like that. We just wrap things up and hand them over. It’s a straightforward business and we like the regulars who come in to chat.
