Working at Chamunda Sweets in the Hinjawadi Burhani Industrial Estate is a bit different than being in a regular market. Since we are right there in the industrial estate, our day is timed by the factory whistles and the shift changes. Most of the people who come in are workers looking for something quick before they go home or during their break. The air in this part of Hinjawadi always feels busy and there is a lot of dust from the road. We keep our shop as tidy as we can but with so many people coming in and out, the floor stays busy. We make the usual items that people like and we try to keep the stock fresh. I have been here since the shop opened and I know many of the regulars by name now. The Burhani Industrial Estate area has changed a lot over the years with new buildings going up nearby. We just stay in our spot and keep the kitchen going. It gets really hot near the big frying pans especially in the summer months. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure the trays stay full. Sometimes we run out of things early if a big group comes by. It is just a regular place where you can get some sweets without any fuss.
