About Bikaneer Namkeen Bhandar – Food & Beverages in Pune
Satyam Shivam Apartments is where you’ll find us, right at shop number ten. The road outside, Mundhwa Kharadi, is always packed with cars and bikes. Inside the shop, it’s a different world. It smells like fried dough and spices all day long. We have these big glass jars filled with different kinds of namkeen. Some are spicy, some are salty, and some have that sweet kick. We spend a lot of time scooping things into paper bags and weighing them. It gets really busy in the evenings when people are heading home and want something to eat with their tea. We aren't a big chain; it's just a local spot in Hadapsar. The Mamulpet area in Bangalore is quite a distance, but we have roots that go back and forth. Sometimes the floor gets a bit crunchy from bits of sev falling, so we have to sweep every hour. We don’t bother with fancy packaging. We just use plain bags and a bit of tape. The regulars know what they want before they even walk in. We might run out of the spicy peanuts by Friday, which makes some people grumpy. It’s a noisy, small shop, but it’s been part of the neighborhood for a while now. We just keep the snacks fresh and the scale ready for the next person in line.
