Bhushan Snacks

Bhushan Snacks is tucked away in Narayan Peth. If you know this part of town, you know how narrow and busy the streets are. We open up early to start frying the first batch of snacks because the smell brings people in. It gets quite hot near the big kadhais, especially in the summer. We mostly serve the locals who have lived here for years. They come in for their daily fix and we usually know their order before they speak. There isn't much room to sit down, so most people just stand around the counter or take their food to go. The floor gets covered in bits of paper and crumbs, so we are always sweeping in between customers. We don't have a big menu, just the things we know how to make well. The tea is always brewing in the back. Sometimes the noise from the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout a bit. Narayan Peth has a lot of old buildings and our shop fits right in with the rest of them. We don't use any fancy machines, just our hands and the stove. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but we like seeing the familiar faces. We just keep the snacks coming and make sure the salt is just right. It’s a basic place for a quick bite.
