About Bhojwani Sweets & Namkin – Food & Beverages in Pune
If you come down to Krishnappa Layout in Dapodi, you’ll see our place, Bhojwani Sweets & Namkin. We started out with just a few trays but now we have the whole wall filled with jars and boxes. It’s mostly just family working here. My brother handles the namkin because he has a better sense for the spices than I do. I usually stay up front. The shop gets very crowded on the weekends when families are out. It’s noisy and sometimes we mix up the orders when it's too busy, but we try to fix it quick. The air smells like frying oil most of the time, which stays on your clothes long after you go home. We don’t do any fancy packaging, just the regular boxes and plastic bags everyone uses. It’s more practical that way. There is a small crack in the front window we haven't gotten around to fixing yet, but it doesn't bother anyone. People in the layout know us by name, which is nice. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just staying consistent with what we put out. Sometimes the supply of ingredients is late, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. They usually don't mind too much. It’s just the way things go in a neighborhood like this one.
