Bhavani Sweets

Bhavani Sweets is a small shop located in Aundh. We’ve been here for quite some time now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us. There are a lot more big stores now, but we are still in our same little corner. The routine is always the same. We open up, clean the counters, and start getting the display trays ready. We don't have a marketing team or a manager. It’s just me and my two cousins who help with the heavy lifting and the cooking. The stove stays on for most of the day, especially when we are making large batches of peda. We don't put any fancy decorations on our walls. It’s just plain paint and some shelves for the boxes. We find that people around here just want something simple to take home after work. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door, so we have to keep a bucket there, but we are planning to get the roof fixed soon. We don't really do anything special for holidays other than making more of what we usually make. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, which can be tiring, but we like talking to the people who stop by. We don't have a big story to tell. We just show up every day and do our work as best as we can.
