Bansal Sweets is right near the Bibwewadi Signal Chowk 90 on the Yerwada Satara Road. If you know that intersection, you know how busy it gets. The traffic is constant and there is always the sound of horns and engines. Our shop is positioned so we see everything that happens at the signal. We have been here quite a while. Every morning starts with cleaning the sidewalk in front of the door because of all the dust from the Satara Road. Inside, it is just a normal sweet shop setup. Long glass counters and weighing scales fill the space. We make the sweets in batches throughout the week. Crowds gather in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work and they stop because the signal is red. A few staff members have been with us for years. They know how to handle the rush. Yerwada is a big area and we get people from all over. The walls are just painted a plain color and some fans keep the air moving. It is not a quiet place to work but we are used to it by now. Keeping our heads down and serving whoever comes through the door is what we do. It is a lot of standing and moving around, but that is how a shop like this goes. Packing things in boxes takes up most of our time while we wait for the next customer.
