Baheti Cement

We’ve been here at N T Wadi for a while now. If you walk down towards Shivaji Nagar, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s mostly just us moving bags of cement from the trucks into the storage area. The yard gets pretty dusty, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoons. We open up early because that’s when the contractors like to get their supplies before the traffic gets too bad. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. Most of the guys here have been working together for years, so we have a rhythm. Sometimes the trucks are late and we just sit around the office talking until they show up. There isn't much fancy about the place. It’s an old building at 26/6, but it does the job of keeping the stock dry. People from around the neighborhood stop by to ask for a few bags for small repairs at home. We just write everything down in the ledger and keep moving. Shivaji Nagar is always busy, so there’s never really a quiet moment around the yard. We deal with the usual stuff like rain delays or the forklift acting up occasionally. It’s just a normal workplace where we focus on getting the orders out. You might see us having tea outside when things slow down for a bit. We don't really do much advertising, folks just know where we are located. It is a simple business but it keeps us all busy.
