Badhai Sweets

You can find Badhai Sweets out on Solapur Road in the Wakad area, near the 41276 pin code. We are a traditional sweet shop, so we have those big glass display cases filled with all sorts of pedas, barfis, and other local mithai. Being on the Solapur Road means we get a lot of travelers who are just passing through and want to grab something sweet for their journey. The shop is usually bright because of the fluorescent lights we use to show off the sweets. We also have a section for savory snacks, like samosas and kachoris, which we fry up in the back throughout the day. The smell of ghee and sugar is pretty much stuck in the walls by now. During the major festivals, the place gets absolutely packed, and we have to bring in extra help just to manage the lines. It gets very tiring during those times, but it is also when we do most of our business. We don't have a website or a marketing person; we just rely on people seeing our sign from the road. The floor is made of plain stone and we spend a lot of time mopping it because of all the foot traffic. It is just a regular sweet shop serving the people of Wakad and those driving by on the highway. We just keep the cases full and the customers moving.
