Asahi India Glass Solutions

Asahi India Glass Solutions is actually located inside the Indira School of Business Studies in Pune. It’s an interesting place to work because you’re surrounded by students and teachers all day. The campus has a lot of trees and it’s generally much nicer than being in an industrial zone. We focus on glass solutions, which means a lot of technical talk about materials and how they fit into buildings. Being in Pune is great because the weather is usually better than in the north, though it does get quite rainy during the monsoon. We have a small office space here where we manage our projects. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate, but it’s a nice walk. We often see the students rushing to their classes while we are heading to a meeting. It keeps us feeling young, I suppose. The office itself is pretty simple. We have some samples of glass around and a few computers for the paperwork. We don't really do the whole corporate marketing thing. We just talk to people who need glass for their projects and figure out the logistics. Sometimes we grab a snack at the student canteen if we are in a hurry. It’s a quiet, professional environment but without the stiffness you find in big city offices. We just do our work and enjoy the campus atmosphere. Sometimes the birds outside get a bit loud, but it’s better than traffic.
