Annapurna Mithai Bhandar

Annapurna Mithai Bhandar is located in Kondhwa Khurd, right by the Jamnadas Industrial Estate on R P Road 3. It’s a very industrial part of town, so the surroundings are mostly warehouses and workshops. I usually arrive at the shop when the first shift workers are starting their day. The R P Road 3 area is always filled with the sound of machinery and the grinding of truck gears. Our shop is a simple concrete structure. Inside, we have a long counter where I serve the customers. The sweets are kept in glass boxes to keep the dust away. I spend a lot of time cleaning the surfaces because of all the grit that comes from the industrial estate. It’s not a fancy place, and we don't have any place for people to sit down. Most customers are workers from the Jamnadas Industrial Estate who are in a hurry. I’ve learned to work fast when the lunch bell rings and everyone comes at once. Kondhwa Khurd is a busy place, but it feels different from the residential parts of the city. There’s a lot of hard work happening all around us every day. Annapurna Mithai Bhandar is just there to provide something small for the people in the area. I don't think about the business in a big way. I just focus on the daily tasks of keeping the trays full and the floor swept. It’s a long day on R P Road 3 but it pays the bills and keeps me busy.
