Aundh B N Street 47/B is where we spend most of our lives. Amrut Sweets has been here on this corner for a good while. Every morning, the big containers of milk arrive and we start the process of making the mawa and chenna. The floor is usually a bit sticky despite how much we mop it. We have these glass display cases that need to be wiped down every hour because of fingerprints. People in Aundh are always in a hurry, so they pop in to grab a box and go. B N Street gets quite dusty in the summer, so we keep the doors mostly shut. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us working the counter and one person in the back near the large vats. The 47/B address is easy to find if you know the landmark nearby. We spend a lot of time just weighing out grams and folding paper boxes. The boxes are stacked high in the corner and sometimes they fall over if someone bumps them. It’s a simple routine of making things, selling them, and cleaning up. We don't do anything too fancy with the decorations. It’s just about having the trays full when the evening crowd comes through after work. By nine at night, we’re usually exhausted and just ready to turn off the lights and go home. We do it all again the next day.
