You can find Agarwal Sweets Mrt at Shukrawar Peth 23. It is an old-fashioned sweet shop with glass cases filled with different kinds of treats. We spend a lot of our time in the back where the large vats are. Everything is made right here, so there is always a smell of sugar and milk in the air. The floor is made of old stone and it shows its age. We have been here for a long time, and the building itself is quite old. We do not have a fancy display, just the trays of sweets lined up so people can see what is fresh. During festival times, it gets very crowded and we barely have room to move behind the counter. We have a few people who help us with the heavy lifting and the frying. It is hard work and the days are long, especially when we have to start before the sun is up. People come from all over the neighborhood because they know we have been at this address for years. We do not do much advertising; people just know where we are. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by noon, so you have to come early if you want something specific. We wrap everything in paper and tie it with string, the old way. It is just a simple shop where we do our best to keep the tradition going for the people around here.
