Adarsh Sweet

Adarsh Sweet is located at Shop No 20 in the Yerwada Ganga Complex, right on Airport Road. Being near the airport means there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside. We get a mix of local residents and people who are just passing through on their way to a flight. The shop isn't very big, but we make sure there is enough space for people to stand and look at what we have in the display. We start cooking very early in the morning so the smell of sugar and ghee is usually the first thing you notice when we open the shutters. We don’t use any complicated machines; most of the work is done by hand with big spatulas. It’s hard work and the kitchen gets incredibly hot during the summer months. My uncle started this place, and I took over after he decided to move back to the village. We have a few stools for people who want to eat right away, but most take things home in boxes. We don't have a fancy website or anything. If someone wants to know what we have, they just come in and ask. Sometimes we run out of milk early and have to wait for the next delivery, which is always a bit stressful. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the trays are topped up whenever we can throughout the day.
