Aathavan Pan Shop

Down in Dighi, at the 17th Cross in Ramesh Nagar, that’s where Aathavan Pan Shop is located. It’s a tiny place, tucked away on the corner. You might miss it if you aren't looking for it. We have the usual jars of sweets and tobacco. The shop is mostly just a small counter where we stand all day. We see a lot of the same faces every single evening. Ramesh Nagar is a quiet enough place, but the 17th Cross gets its fair share of foot traffic. We don't have any big signs or neon lights. Just a simple board with the name. The air around the shop usually smells like sweet cloves and mint. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars and making sure the leaves are fresh. It’s a simple life running a pan shop. We listen to the radio and watch the cars go by. Sometimes a neighbor stops by just to talk for twenty minutes without buying anything. That’s just how it is in Dighi. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you want to find us, you just come to the crossroad. We’ve been here long enough that most people know where we are anyway. It’s a small business, just run by a couple of us who know the area well. We stay open late most nights to catch the people heading home from work.
