If you know Pune Satara Road, you know it’s always moving. We are right there in Katraj, which is a busy part of Pune. The school sits where you can hear the buses and bikes going past all day. It’s a big campus with a lot of movement from morning until the late afternoon. We have kids of all ages here, so the energy levels are always high. The classrooms are basic but they do the job for what the students need. We spend a lot of time making sure everyone is where they should be, which isn't always easy with so many hallways and different levels. The playground gets a lot of use during the breaks, and you can hear the shouting from the street. We’ve got a canteen that smells like tea and snacks around midday. It’s a place where a lot of local families send their children because it’s convenient for anyone living on this side of the city. We don’t do anything too fancy, just follow the schedule and make sure the teachers have what they need for their classes. Some days are more hectic than others, especially when there’s a local event or exams are coming up. The entrance gets crowded at 3 PM, so we have to manage the flow of people coming in and out carefully so nobody gets stuck. It is a long day for everyone, but the staff keeps things going until the last bell.
