The shop is right on Bhandari Street in Chinchwad, specifically in the Vadgadi area. If you live around here, you probably know the spot. We named it Aai Mata Sweets because it felt right. Most days start pretty early, around five or six, before the sun really gets hot. We get the milk delivered and start the stove. It gets warm in the back room pretty quickly. There is always something to do, like cleaning the glass counters or stacking the boxes. Bhandari Street is usually noisy with scooters and people walking to work. We see the same faces every morning. Some stop for a quick bite, others are just passing through. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things are ready for the day. The Vadgadi part of town has changed a bit over the years, but our little corner stays mostly the same. We don't do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People just know where we are. Usually, by the afternoon, the trays are starting to look a bit empty. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day and dealing with the heat from the kitchen, but it’s what we do. We try to keep things simple. The floor gets swept a lot because of the dust from the street. That’s just how it is here. We stay open until the evening rush is over and then we head home and rest.
