Swad Ka Tadka

We are located inside the Hotel De Pintu building on Exhibition Road in Patna. Specifically, we are on R. K. Bhattacharya Road. It’s a very busy part of the city with lots of traffic and people walking by all the time. Our space isn't very large, but we’ve tried to make it comfortable for the office workers who come in for lunch. I started this place because I wanted to offer something that wasn't the usual oily food you find in most restaurants. My wife handles most of the kitchen work. She makes sure the spices are balanced. We get a lot of regulars who work in the banks and offices nearby. They don't want a fancy menu, they just want a good meal and a place to sit for thirty minutes. The fans in here work hard during the summer months to keep everyone cool. We don't have a big sign outside, just enough so people can find us. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the lunch hour hits, and sometimes people have to share tables. No one seems to mind much. We use fresh vegetables from the local market every morning. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just focus on the cooking and making sure the plates are clean. It’s a simple operation and we like it that way. Patna is a loud city, but we have our little corner here.
