Raj Rasoi

Raj Rasoi is on the ground floor of the Twin Tower Hathwa building, right by South Gandhi Maidan in Patna. We are just to the east of Hotel Maurya, which is what most people use to find us when they are in the area. Being near Gandhi Maidan means there is always something going on outside, like a local fair or just a lot of people out for an evening walk. Our restaurant is a place where we cook the kind of food we like to eat ourselves. It is a busy spot, especially during the lunch hour when everyone from the offices in the towers comes down to get something to eat. The kitchen is a bit small but we make it work, and it usually smells like spices and fresh onions being fried. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls or expensive furniture. We just have regular tables and chairs that have been used by many people over the years. We spend a lot of our time making sure the floors are swept and the tables are wiped down after the big lunch rush is over. It can get pretty noisy when the room is full of people talking and the sound of spoons hitting plates. We aren't trying to be a fancy five-star place, just a kitchen for the local people. Sometimes we run out of things if it’s a busy day. We just do our best to feed whoever walks in.
