No.1 English Zone is located in Patna at Devarun Apartment in Naya Tola. This part of the city, Bhikhana Pahari, is famous for being a hub for students and coaching centers. Our place is inside an apartment building, so it’s not like a big school campus. You have to navigate through the busy streets and the crowd of students to find the entrance. Inside, we have a few classrooms that are often packed to the limit. It gets very hot in Patna, and with so many people in one room, the fans have to work overtime. The walls are thin, so you can often hear the teacher in the next room giving a lecture on grammar. There are stacks of photocopied notes and practice papers everywhere you look. It’s a bit chaotic but that is just how Naya Tola is. We spend our days correcting essays and helping students with their pronunciation. People come from all over Bihar to study in this area, so we meet a lot of different people every day. The office is just a small desk in the corner of the main hall. It is a very basic setup, focused entirely on the classes. There’s no grand lobby or reception, just a place to sit and learn. It’s been at this Bhikhana Pahari location for quite some time now, and the routine stays pretty much the same.
