Mr Litti

We’re tucked into Ashiana Galaxy on Exhibition Road. It’s a busy spot in Patna, right near the HDFC Bank. If you’ve ever been down this way, you know how hectic it can get with all the cars and people. We focus on litti because it’s what people around here love. It’s simple food, but it takes time to get the coal fire just right. We’re not a big place. There’s enough room for a few people to sit, but a lot of our customers just stand outside or take it to go. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’ve been busy in the kitchen. We use sattu and plenty of ghee, just like it should be. The smell of the roasting dough usually brings people in. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. We just rely on people walking by. Some of our regulars have been coming since we started. We know their names and how they like their chokha. It’s a lot of work handling the heat from the fires all day, especially in the summer. But we’ve got used to it. We don't pretend to be a five-star hotel. We’re just a small shop on a busy road. If you're looking for something that tastes like the countryside but you’re stuck in the city, we’re here. Just look for the smoke and the crowd near the bank. We’re just doing our best every day.
