Biryani Mahal

We are located at Kotwali Chauraha in Patna, which is one of the busiest intersections you can find in the city. If you’re heading towards Buddha Marg, you’ve probably passed by our door at Biryani Mahal at some point. This part of the city is always moving. There’s the constant sound of horns and people everywhere you look. It’s a lot to take in if you’re not used to the pace of Patna. Our shop has been here for a while, and we’ve become part of the daily scenery for the people who work nearby. We open up and start the day by getting the fires going early. It takes time to get everything ready for the lunch crowd. We don’t have a fancy setup here. It’s just a place with some seating where people can take a break from the heat and the noise outside. We get all kinds of people, from government workers to laborers to travelers passing through the Chauraha. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the fans are a bit noisy when they're on full speed, but it’s an honest place. We don’t put on any acts for anyone. We just cook and serve the food. It’s hard work, especially in the Patna summers when the humidity is really high, but we keep at it. We’ve known some of our customers for years now, and they know exactly what to expect when they walk in. It’s just how we run things here near Buddha Marg.
