Biryani & Fish

We are located on the Patliputra Kurji Road, right near the Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank. It is a busy stretch in Kurji, and we have been here for a while now. The name Biryani & Fish is exactly what we do. We didn't want a complicated name that people couldn't remember. In the mornings, I go down to the local market to pick out the fish myself. If the fish isn't good that day, we just don't make it. The shop is quite small and the kitchen takes up most of the space. We have a few stools outside for when the inside gets too hot. Patna gets very humid, and standing near the stoves makes us all sweat, but that’s part of the job. Our neighbors at the bank often come over for lunch. We don't have a waiter in a uniform or a printed menu. We just tell you what we cooked today. Sometimes we have a bit of a wait because we only have so many pans. The road outside is always being repaired or dug up, so it can be a bit of a mess to get to us. We try our best to keep the place tidy, but it's a working kitchen. It is just a family-run thing, really. My brother helps with the deliveries if someone lives close by. We aren't looking to become a big chain. We just like our little spot in Kurji.
