St Xaviers International School

St Xaviers International School is over in Patiala, a city that feels very old and established. Our school building is a big one, with different wings that seem to go on forever when you are trying to find a specific room. The walls are painted a simple color, and there are always a few scuff marks from where bags have bumped against them. We have a lot of windows, and in the late afternoon, the light hits the wooden desks in a way that makes the whole place look very calm. Patiala is a place where people know their neighbors, and our school is no different. We see the same parents every day at the gate, and the local shopkeepers know when our lunch break is. The staff room is where we all gather to drink tea and complain about the heat or the cold, depending on the season. We have a small area for sports, but it is nothing like a professional stadium, just a place for the kids to run around and get some air. The desks are the old-fashioned kind, and some of them even have names carved into the wood from many years ago. It is a simple, practical place where we come to work and get the lessons finished before the final bell. We do not have fancy gadgets, just our books and the daily routine we have followed for years.
