Sawan Textiles

Sawan Textiles is located on Babail Road, right across from the Saluja Gas Godown. It is a dusty part of the road and there are always trucks rumbling past, which makes the windows rattle sometimes. We have a lot of space here but it is mostly filled with heavy rolls of textile materials. The air usually smells a bit like raw cotton and machine oil. We spend our mornings unloading deliveries and our afternoons trying to organize everything so we can actually find what we need. It is not the kind of place you would come to for a fancy shopping experience. It is a warehouse and a workplace. We have some plastic chairs for when we need a break and a desk that is always covered in loose papers and delivery receipts. Sometimes the neighbor from the gas godown comes over to share some news. It is a very practical way of living. We do not worry about being trendy or having a sleek look. We just make sure the textiles are moved in and out as they should be. The sun beats down on the roof in the summer, making it pretty warm inside, but we just keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze there is. It is just a local business trying to keep up with the daily demands of the textile trade.
