Overseas Tapis (I)

Our place, Overseas Tapis (I), is situated near Bisipuri Chowk on Barsat Road, just behind where Ladha Yarn is. It’s more of a functional area than a pretty one. We deal with a lot of heavy materials, so the floor is usually covered in bits of thread or dust from the rugs. The building is a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the sign behind the yarn place to find us. It’s a noisy part of town with trucks and bikes going past all day. Inside, we have stacks of stuff waiting to be shipped out or moved. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and carrying, but we’re used to it by now. We don't have a fancy showroom, just a space that works for the business. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we keep the doors open to get a bit of a breeze. The team here just gets on with things without making much of a fuss. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the neighbors are all doing similar types of work. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with deliveries and checking the inventory. We try to keep it organized, though it’s a constant battle with all the stock we have. It’s just a normal day of work for us here on Barsat Road. We take our tea breaks together when the work slows down a bit.
