Prasanna Farming

You can find Prasanna Farming right at the Akharia Chowk in Sadri. It’s a central spot where a lot of the local farmers meet up in the morning before heading out. The shop is filled with the smell of earth and sacks of seeds. We keep things like shovels, sickles, and different types of fertilizers stacked up against the walls. It’s not a very tidy place, but we know where everything is. The floor is made of old stone and it’s always got some dirt on it from people coming in from the fields. I spend most of my time talking to people about the weather and when they think the rain will finally start. It’s important work because everyone here depends on the harvest. I have a big wooden desk where I keep all my notes and orders. Sometimes the birds fly in through the open door and sit on the rafters for a while. It gets quite hot during the summer months, so we keep the big doors wide open to catch any breeze coming through the chowk. I’ve been working here since I was a young man, following what my father taught me about the different crops. We don't use any fancy computers to run the place, just a simple calculator and some old notebooks. It’s a steady way of life and I like being right in the middle of Sadri where everything happens. Every day is pretty much the same.
