Marathwada Farmer Producer Company Ltd. is based right here in Sheoganj. Even though the name sounds a bit official, we are really just a group of people working with the local farmers. Our office in Sheoganj is a simple space where we meet and talk about the crops and the season. It’s not a corporate headquarters with glass walls. It’s more of a place where you’ll find muddy boots and people talking about the rain. We spend a lot of our time out in the fields or coordinating with the producers in the area. The building we use is older and has a lot of character. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture, just what we need to get the work done. The heat in Sheoganj can be a lot to handle, so we usually start our work very early in the morning before it gets too hot. It’s a lot of hard work, and things don’t always go according to plan, but that is just the nature of working with the land. We aren't here to make big speeches or use marketing talk. We are just here to help the farmers get their produce to where it needs to go. Every day brings a different challenge, whether it’s the market prices or the weather, but we just take it one step at a time and keep moving forward. We sit together during the lunch hour and share whatever food we’ve brought from home before getting back to the records.
