Velly Stone

Velly Stone is located in Khemana, right near the toll plaza on the Abu Road. It’s in the Palanpur Taluka of Banas Kantha District. Being so close to the toll plaza means we see a lot of people and vehicles all day long. The location is quite practical for moving stone since the highway is right there. We deal with different types of stone that are common in this part of Gujarat. The yard is usually full of slabs and blocks that we get from the nearby quarries. It’s a dusty place, and the sun can get quite hot out here on Abu Road, but we’re used to it. We have a small shed where we keep the tools and a little office for the paperwork. Most of the work happens outside though. We spend our time checking the stone for cracks and making sure the piles are sorted by size. It’s not a fancy operation, just a local business trying to keep up with the daily tasks. Sometimes the wind picks up and blows the sand around, which makes it hard to see, but we just keep working through it. We know the truck drivers who pass through the toll plaza regularly and they often stop in to say hello. It’s a good spot to be in if you’re in the stone trade. We don't really do much besides the stone work and keeping the yard in order.
